The ostentatious city of Ajmer is a respected destination and called as 'Ajmer Sharif' (Holy Ajmer). The prominent personality of history, Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti was buried in Ajmer .

The endowments (Najrana) of pilgrims, who come with a hope to grab blessings for themselves and their families, are made more then what is expected. Petals of rose and jasmine flowers, sandalwood paste, incense sticks can be seen everywhere. The wonderful fragrance spread in the air directly enters inside the soul and purifies the thought process. In the exterior premises of Dargah, the musical atmosphere created by professional singers (qawwals) with their high pitched voice seems unusual. The music is downright melodious and a bunch of listeners can always be seen standing in circle around the singers.

The Urs Fair was commenced by Sajjada Nashin, successor of Chishtis. The fair is held in every 25th of Jamadi-ul-Akhir which is a sixth lunar month. The devotees traverse the gate seven times with a firm belief that they will get a secured place in paradise. The tomb is cleansed and enclosed with an embroidered silk cloth.
