Mount Abu is no wonder a magical land where the spirits gets transformed. Purity, freshness and glee flows in the air of Mount Abu. It is the only hill station of deserted land and when touched by festivities of the Summer Festival, the entire atmosphere start dancing with pleasure. The month of June is the period when the festival is organized. The picture of Mount Abu can be described with the words like precipitous rocks, serene lagoons, striking scenery and the suitable weather making it an ideal destination to roam around. These celebrations of the festival continue for three-days in which one can get an idea about tribal life and rich cultural tradition of Rajasthan.

To invigorate the fatigued soul due to hustle and bustle of fast metropolitan life is possible by making a trip to Mount Abu. In summer festival a traditional procession is taken and the starting point is usually Nakki Lake Chowk that gives a fair opportunity to feel the refreshment at the bank of the serene Lake. The Summer Festival of Mount Abu is on the whole organized by the Rajasthan Tourism, Municipal Board, Mt.Abu & District Administration.

The period during the Buddha Poornima is considered auspicious to celebrate the festival. The exotic colors of nature and vivacious life of inhabitants of Mount Abu is highly enchanting. The initiation of the festival is done by chanting some popular ballad and folk dances. A spectacular boat race befalls on the unruffled Nakki Lake and entertains the onlookers.

On the second day, a series of competitions go on like Skating Race, skater's Show, CRPF Band Show, Boat Race, Horse Race, Tug of War, Panihari Matka Race and Deepdan which are the major highlight of the event. The Sham-e-Qawwali, a stupendous musical evening is presented by some of the experienced qawwals (singers) of different states of India.
